The new Buick Encore GX Preferred trim gives you a standard 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine that can generate 137 horsepower. If you prefer the extra traction of all-wheel drive, move up to the 1.3-liter turbo-three-cylinder and get 155 horsepower.

The new Buick Encore GX Select trim lets you choose the 1.3-liter three-cylinder engine with front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. Either way, you'll get a 10-way power adjustable driver's seat and two-way power lumbar support. In the Encore GX Essence trim, the passenger seat is enhanced with 8-way power adjustability and 2-way power lumbar support.

Engines and performance

To look at it from a higher level, you can choose either of two turbocharged three-cylinder engines, one that's good for 137 horsepower and the other that generates 155 horsepower. The bigger 1.3-liter three-cylinder can make a zero-to-60-mph run in 9.3 seconds. Fuel economy

The bigger turbocharged 1.3-liter engine can deliver up to 32 MPG on highways. We suspect that you'll prefer that to the less-efficient model you may be driving now. The interior
