The latest generation GMC Terrain debuted last year with the 2025 model. This redesign not only freshened up the Terrain’s small-yet-rugged appearance, it brought with it more standard safety features than ever before, such as Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking and Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking.

There was only one thing missing. Or, perhaps, two things missing: trim level options!

In 2026, Terrain enthusiasts in Milwaukee will finally get the option to customize their compact SUV to their unique tastes, with the premium Denali trim and the rough-and-ready AT4 trim joining the entry-level Elevation.

Perhaps the folks at GMC thought they could get away with debuting the next-gen Terrain with just the Elevation trim, because of how feature-packed it is. They might have been right. With standard heated front seats and heated steering wheel, nobody was left shivering through a cold Glendale winter. It is also brimming with standard safety features, wireless charging, and a 15" touchscreen GMC Infotainment System. However, if adventure is what you crave, the Terrain AT4 now feeds your soul with a lifted ride height, skid plates, an underbody shield, recovery hooks, selectable drive modes, and all-terrain tires. And for the finer things in life, the Denali adds heated and ventilated front and rear seats, panoramic sunroof, animated headlamps and taillamps, HD Surround Vision and Rear Camera Mirror, and 19" Midnight Silver machined-face aluminum wheels and all-season tires.
